Dana Griffin MBA, MLS(ASCP)CM

I graduated from Michigan State in 2006 with a degree in Biomedical Sciences (at the time it was called Medical Technology) and completed my internship at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. I worked for 2 years as a Generalist CLS at Huron Valley Hospital DMC. From there I took a job as a Blood Banker at Providence Park Hospital (Ascension) in Novi. While working there I received my MBA with a specialty in Healthcare from Walsh College of Business and Accounting. After working at the "Park" for 5 years I was offered a job as a Blood Bank Manager at Garden City Hospital. I was at Garden City for almost 6 years and in that time, I became the Educational Coordinator for the CLS interns. I stepped down from my position as manager when my son was born. A few months later I was offered a position at Madonna University as an adjunct instructor teaching in the Biomedical Sciences Program. I have been working at Madonna for 4 years now and currently teach Lab Management, Med Term, Blood Bank and Independent Study for Research Projects. In my free time, I am working with a team of people and the publishing company, FA Davis, to write a textbook for Lab Management and Operations. I also have two children at home. My son, Rowan, is 3.5 years old and my daughter, Wren, will be two in November.
