The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)
The Summer Undergraduate Research Program (the Cech Fellows Program) gives undergraduate students in the life sciences the opportunity to conduct hands-on research alongside leading scientists at HHMI laboratories across the US, from universities and research institutions to HHMI’s research campus outside of Washington, DC. Students are matched with HHMI scientists conducting fundamental research that advances our understanding of biology and health.

The College of Veterinary Medicine seeks your assistance in identifying undergraduate students to apply for the 2026 Biomedical Research for University Students in Health Sciences (BRUSH) Summer Research Program offered at Michigan State University (MSU).
BRUSH is a vibrant summer research program that focuses on experiential learning as well as community building and professional development by:
- providing students an immersive mentored research experience,
- explicitly facilitating the establishment of networks of mentors and peers to create a supportive community, and
- intentionally fostering participants' success to give them tools and confidence to pursue biomedical and science-based educational and career goals.
