Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research (SIP)

The SIP provides interns with a summer of intensive research in an NHLBI laboratory on NIH’s main campus in Bethesda, MD. Interns receive a competitive stipend based on their education level.

The RADM Helena O. Mishoe Fellowship for Underrepresented Scientists

This fellowship aims to enhance career development for postbacs planning to apply to graduate and/or medical school with the long-term career goal of becoming a trained scientist or physician/scientist.

Undergraduate Summer Research Program in Computational Biology

“Training and Experimentation in Computational Biology” REU program is a 10-week summer program that will provide a challenging and fulfilling graduate-level research experience to undergraduate students.

2020 U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research Summer Opportunities

This mentored research experience will expose interns to ongoing efforts in integrated science, technology and engineering solutions at the nation’s premier military trauma research institute. Opportunities are available with the following departments:
- Blood Coagulation Research Department (BCRD)
- Tactical and Enroute Care Research Department (TECRD)
- Sensory Trauma Research Department (STRD)
- Clinical Research Support Department (CRSD)
- Burn and Soft Tissue Research Department (BSTRD)

The University of Michigan Frankel Cardiovascular Center 10-week fellowship program

Each fellow will be matched to a laboratory led by a FCVC faculty member and participate in nationally recognized research in areas such as atherosclerosis, genetic cardiomyopathies, blood clotting disorders, cardiac arrhythmias, vascular biology, and heart failure.

Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service - Early Commissioning Program

This highly competitive program is available to full-time students about to begin their final year of academic study or professional training. Those selected for the program will become Commissioned officers in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) and receive full pay and benefits of an active duty officer for up to 12 months just for finishing their education and training.
